Piper and Fox married at St Mary's Church in Easebourne, West Sussex, on 31 December 2007. At the time of the holiday, Piper was starring as Belle in the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl, which ran from 2007 to 2011.
Fox had recently appeared in the 2007 film Elizabeth: The Golden Age and in the television adaptation of A Room with a View. Piper would return as Rose Tyler in the fourth series of Doctor Who later in 2008.
