On 20 October 2006, George Foreman brought a cooking demonstration to Trafalgar Square in London in support of the British Heart Foundation. The original archive captions describe a partnership aiming to raise GBP 300,000 for research. Twenty years later, six photographs revisit the former heavyweight boxing champion's appearance away from the ring.
Wearing a pale blue shirt, patterned tie and black apron, Foreman demonstrated a grill, presented plates of food and sampled a skewer. Another frame shows him raising an arm while holding a microphone. The selection also includes a portrait with a cup and a wider photograph placing him beside the campaign's fundraising display.
These photographs document the London appearance, not the eventual amount raised. The date, location and fundraising aim come from the contemporaneous archive captions; the pictured display provides further context for the campaign. All six selected frames are catalogued to 20 October 2006 and credited to Big Pictures Archive.
